If the “Pickpockets and Water Pimps” at “Tustin California” City Hall – have “their” Way – “Again” – Your Water Bill is Gonna Look More Like a “Car Payment” – It’s Never Ending and “You and I have just Begun the Water Fight of Our Lives”

Water

Dear Friend – Neighbor – and Tustin California Water Customer,

“Pretty soon your Water Bill is Gonna Look Like a Car Payment!”

Yes you can send in a protest letter and attend the Public Hearing on Water Rate Increases  but here’s a Reality Check – the City of Tustin Does Not Want to Hear from You – and Does Not Care what You think about this Water Rate Increase.

They’re Increasing Water Rates whether You Like it or Not!

So why the Public Hearing? Well – that’s the only way that the City of Tustin Water Works can Legally Pick-Your-Pocket with this Rate Increase.

During a Drought the City and other Water Departments will Tell You to “Cut Back” on your water usage – because like talking about “Climate Change” – it’s “Politically Correct” – but the “Reality” is that they want you to use as much water as possible – so they can support their “Lavish Salaries” – “Luxurious Benefits” and “Sweetheart Retirement Packages” – “things that “you” won’t get.”

Go ahead and send in your Letter of Protest – and watch the City Clerk Open Your Letter – Roll their Eyes – “Laugh” – and promptly throw it over to a Corner of their desk – or maybe in the trash can – a successful protest requires 51% of water customers to mail a formal protest and for it to be counted as valid.

I don’t have lots of Time to Fight this for “You” – so – You need to “Fight for Yourself”.

There are only a few ways you can negate and Stop this Water Rate Increase.

First and the “easiest” is to conduct a thorough Water use Audit at Your Home or Business – and make a Plan to Cut Your Water Use by at least Half – and even more if possible.

Second and won’t be as easy – is to use a Law Firm to fight and eliminate the Fixed Meter Charge – “around $24.00 a month residential “now” – even if you never use a single drop of water” – this”Penalizes Water Savers” and may be patently “Illegal”.

You can fight this Now – or – you can wait until your Water Bill is $1,000.00 a month – and you and your Family can’t afford to Bathe – because that’s where the Pickpockets are Going with Water!

That’s why I have copied this letter to the Governor of California and other State of California and County of Orange Officials.

You and I have just begun the “Water Fight of Our Lives” and we need to beckon the State of California to “Step In and Take Over City of Tustin Water” and “Stop the Mismanagement and Pimping” of our “Life and Health Sustaining Water Resources”.

This is a Game of “Water Chicken” – that must be Stopped – “Right Now” – You and I Cut Back on Our Water Usage – the City and Water Departments then Raise Rates Again – Cut and Raise – Cut and Raise – and Cut and Raise – when “Finally” You and I reach a “Cut Back Dead End” – where we can “No Longer Cut Back on Our Water Usage” – there’s nowhere left to Cut – without Sacrificing Our Health and Safety – and the Health and Safety of Our Families and Children.

Talking Points and Issues

1. Instead of spending millions building a filtering system for the “polluted wells” – “Water Employee Job Security” – we should just close the wells and buy all water from Colorado River Sources – as is occurring now – closing the Wells and eliminating employees and other expenses will go a long way towards a “Water Rate Reduction”.

2. The Fixed Meter Charge – “around $24.00 a month residential “now” – even if you never use a single drop of water” – “Penalizes Water Savers” and may be patently “Illegal”.

3. We need to hire a Law Firm and “Force” an independent Audit of both the Water Department and City Hall – looking for expenses and people we can “Cut” – and Possibly effect a “Water Rate “Reduction” not Increase.

4. City Hall and Water Employees “Pickpockets and Water Pimps” – live in a “Perpetual Pay Raises” – “Lavish Benefits” – and “Lush Retirement Packages” – “La La Land” – while the rest of us suffer with never ending and outrageous expense increases.

5. Our first line of defense against the “Pickpockets and Water Pimps” is to Immediately audit your household and business water usage – with the goal of reducing your consumption by – fully 50% – as I mentioned – “the System is Rigged” and the Fixed Meter Charge of around $24.00 a month residential “Penalizes Water Savers” – so we must pursue a Legal Remedy to eliminate the Fixed Meter Charge – altogether – this Way Water Savers – Save – and Water Users – Pay.

Best regards, good luck and good health to everybody,

Dave – Tustin Water Customer

https://savetustin.com/tag/water/

Rates just went up by 5% each year – already!

As of February 1, 2020, the City of Tustin moved to a fixed-rate fee system from a tiered-rate system. This means all customers will be charged the same flat fee of $2.79 for each unit of water (748 gallons) used regardless of how much water is consumed. Since 2014, Tustin’s unit cost has ranged from $0.84 to $4.05 per unit depending on amount of usage (i.e. tiered system). On each January 1 over the next four years (2021-2024), the new unit cost of $2.79 will increase by 5 percent as part of this five-year rate plan.

Trivia:

In 1958 the Privately Owned Tustin Water Works Installed No Residential Water Meters – and Households Paid a Flat Total Fee for Water Use of just $5.00 per month.

We Love You Howard Jarvis – RIP – and Thank You for Everything!

After years of work by tax revolt leaders Howard and Estelle Jarvis, Proposition 13 was overwhelmingly approved by voters on June 6, 1978. But Howard and Estelle knew that taxpayers’ gains would be temporary without a permanent citizens organization to protect Proposition 13 and to continue the movement against higher taxes. To meet this need, they founded the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association (originally called the California Tax Reduction Movement).

Although Howard Jarvis passed away in 1986 and his wife Estelle in 2006, the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association continues their important work.

And with the constant pressure from government for higher taxes, the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association’s role as the legal and political watchdog of Proposition 13 is more important than ever.

Sadly – The 34th Annual – “I just wanted to Get the Fuck Out of Tustin” – Chili Cook-Off Hybrid Gay Pride Parade – World’s Largest Alcoholics Anonymous Recruitment – Jesus Loves You Revival and Uber Taxpayer Cluster-Fuck – “I will not be attending ever again.” – will be held on Sunday June 3 2018 – Like It or Not

Tustin, California –

Editorial –

Essentially this is Businesses – Jesus Freaks and City Hall – Helping Each Other Make Sure that No One Ever Comes Back to Tustin California for – Anything – Ever.

Many Businesses along the Street Fair Route at the Chili Cook-off are Locking their Doors and Hanging a Closed Sign – because they’re tired of the Drunks and other Losers wandering around – coming in and wanting to use their Restroom and Trashing the Sidewalks with Litter and Human Excrement.

You won’t need to worry about any DUI checkpoints though – becasue the Fat Tustin Cops and other City Employees that aren’t working on Overtime and Pension Spiking – will be Drinking – and they don’t want to have to Arrest themselves or otherwise get caught.

“Fullerton city manager Joe Felz – smelled of booze – lost control of his car – taking a sidewalk – crashing into a small tree – before skidding back on the street”
https://savetustin.com/2016/12/fullerton-city-manager-joe-felzlost-smelled-of-booze-lost-control-of-his-car-taking-a-sidewalk-crashing-into-a-small-tree-before-skidding-back-on-the-street/

The only ones who benefit from this event are City of Tustin Employees who are getting paid and on overtime – and spiking their pensions – for doing everything involved in this fiasco – set-up – traffic control – policing – clean-up and tear down when it’s all over.

Taxpayers are the Biggest Losers on this Deal.

If you own a business on the route “Close” and take the day off – if you’re planning on attending – Don’t.

Der Wienerschnitzel always has the best Chili in Town and they’re Open Every Day. –

 From Yelp

“I have been to this event a few times over the last 10-15 years, most recently being on Sunday June 7, 2015.

I am all about street fairs, day drinking, and eating good food. We got there at about 11am and lucked out with parking in the center nearby for free. Walked in, and had friends that were at Black Marlin, so I went to locate them…that place was packed. And it became a hangout later in the day as well. Just go there and ignore the dumb cook-off.

Got in line for tickets…WHAT A HASSLE!!! They are cash only, which is not posted. So, I got to wait in that line twice. The differentiate between the beer tickets and the chili tickets, so you have to plan in advance an decide how you want to divvy your tickets up. Which ends up with exactly what they want…you buy tickets that you end up not using. And then there’s places that serve food with more substance, that don’t take tickets, only cash. WTF. SO DAMN ANNOYING.

I had 2 thimbles of chili. And it was not exciting. Tons of places were OUT OF CHILI at 12pm? Is that not the whole goddam point of this event? And, the beer table was out of service too, so I wandered around looking for another one most of the time, whilst having beer and chili spilled on me from people who managed to get chili before it ran out, and beer before the tap malfunction.

I tried to sell my tickets to people in line before I left so I could recoup some of my money. People thought I was trying to run some sort of scam. LOL. I just wanted to Get the Fuck Out of Tustin!!! and get back some of the $40 I wasted on tickets.

I left after 2 hours, and I wanted to leave after 30 minutes. I wasted my money. It was not fun.

In the past it was not such a cluster-fuck.

I only went because I was in town to visit my sister and it happened to coincide with a friends birthday and she was planning to be at the Chili Cook Off, so I went. It is not at all worth the drive from San Diego. I don’t think it was worth the drive from Costa Mesa, to be honest.

I will not be attending ever again.”

“There were a lot of police walking the fair” –  [Editors Note] – Police on Overtime Pay and Pension Spiking (Caution Taxpayer Cluster-Fuck Here) – Dave

“The vast majority of the offerings were simply based on #10 cans of Hormel, Stag, or U.S. Foods chili with some minimal additives presumably there to “customize” the recipe”

“What a cluster-fuck”

“Alcohol wristbands $2”

“But WTF, NONE of the chili’s I tried were that great.  In fact, some of them were just bad.  Very disappointing! ”

“And, the most disturbing part was that somewhere, someone or some booth was handing children balloons with a large JESUS LOVES YOU screen printed on them.”

Displaced business owner hijacks Tustin’s Wikipedia page to vent “Since 2009, Tustin has changed and is no longer a ‘Business Friendly’ community,” the introduction pronounced

Tustin, California

If, earlier this week, you clicked on Tustin’s Wikipedia page to research the city’s demographics or history, you may have found yourself either confused or amused.

“Since 2009, Tustin has changed and is no longer a ‘Business Friendly’ community,” the introduction pronounced.

The bio went on to list examples indicating Tustin’s “bad business climate” – mainly, the City Council’s recent vote to rezone a 7-acre piece of property from industrial to residential.

By Thursday morning, not long after city officials were approached for a comment, the Wikipedia entry had returned to its usual tone – dryly stating geographical location, population statistics and such.

“We don’t monitor Wikipedia every day,” said City Manager Jeff Parker. “But if someone brings something to our attention, we check to make sure things are accurate. Wikipedia is supposed to be as factual as possible – not opinion-based.”

So whodunnit? All clues hinted at one of the disgruntled tenants forced to leave the soon-to-be-leveled industrial complex, wedged between Old Town and the I-5. In September, about 30 businesses there received notice that their month-to-month leases would not be renewed by their landlord, who wanted to sell the property.

A 140-unit condominium complex is scheduled to break ground on the lot next spring.

Perhaps the project’s most vocal critic is Lyann Courant, co-owner of Advantage Manufacturing, which makes swimming pool pumps. Under a tight deadline, she and her husband moved their equipment and 23 employees to Santa Ana last week.

Asked if she knew anything about the Wikipedia hack, Courant responded, “I wouldn’t say it was ‘hacked’ exactly. Anyone can post on Wikipedia.”

Quite right, said the nonprofit’s spokeswoman Samantha Lien.

“By its very nature, Wikipedia will always be a work in progress,” she said. “It’s a living encyclopedia that can be updated in real time.”

Courant eventually acknowledged that she was the one who wrote the anti-Tustin rant.

“I’ve been screaming from the social media rooftops as loudly as I can,” she said. “Social media and the web in general give the average person an opportunity to share their side of the story in a way that was never possible before.”

Founded in 2001, now ubiquitous Wikipedia enjoys an almost all-knowing reputation – as though its words come from experts on the subject – despite myriad college professors warning students against using it as a primary source.

“That is the problem – people perceive Wikipedia as absolutely factual,” Parker said.

Yet anyone with a computer can easily insert information – as well as opinions and even fake news – simply by hitting the “edit” button.

That feature keeps Wikipedia ever-current, unlike a dusty set of World Books. But it also makes the site vulnerable to unvetted material, despite the site’s policy encouraging neutral and well-cited articles.

A University of California, Santa Cruz, study in 2010 estimated that about 7 percent of all edits to Wikipedia articles constitute “vandalism.”

Usually, it’s readers themselves who make the corrections, Lien said, adding, “The more eyes on a page, the more reliable and balanced its information.”

Needless to say, Tustin does not attract the traffic that a contentious news event or famous celebrity might.

Courant offers no apology for “enhancing” Wikipedia’s Tustin page.

“Yeah,” she said, “it was a little satisfying.”
